Do Not Seek Revenge or Bear a Grudge Against Anyone – Leviticus 19:18

The Lord had spoken: let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour and slander be put away from you along with all malice, be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:31-32). The Lord said that spending time nursing animosity or registering wrongs is bad. He went on to say you were all sinners at some time, forgive he had said and whenever you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses (Mark 11:25). The Lord went on to say that grudges are for those who insist that they are owed something, to be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it. We must remember that when you hold a grudge, you want someone else’s sorrow to reflect your level of hurt but the two rarely meet. So be kind to one another, tender-hearted and forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).

The Lord knows that some wounds run too deep for healing; he went on to say that a life lived without forgiveness is a prison. So let today be the day you finally release yourself from the imprisonment of past grudges and anger, simplify your life, let go of the poisonous past and live the abundantly beautiful present ... today. The Lord had spoken and said: know this, my beloved brothers; let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20). You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord (Leviticus 19:18). He said: pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins - rebuke him, and if he repents - forgive him and if he sins against you seven times in the day and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him (Luke 17:3-4).

The Lord had said that at the heart of all anger, all grudges and all resentment you will always find a fear that hopes to stay anonymous; that's true, but we must also remember that happiness has never been a product of a mind that's full of grudges and regrets; your grudges make your heart fragile, so leave your grudge and don't carry it. The Lord knows that the wound never heals until the grudge is completely gone: beloved, never avenge yourselves but leave it to the wrath of God - for it is written: vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord (Romans 12:19). The Lord had said blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy (Matthew 5:7). The Lord said that the problem with people who ignore people they dislike; you can’t ignore them, he said that your anger carries a person in your mind forever, whether you choose to speak to them or not.

Therefore, don’t mistake prosperity or accomplishments as resolution; you can’t escape what you will not deal with. He went on to say that the day you can stand in the room with someone and not be affected is the day you have truly moved on. Remember to be happy by forgiving, forgetting or doing both - but we can gain no happiness by holding grudges. The Lord said that once you decide to forgive, you initiate the healing process. I am with you said the Lord, he went on to say that forgiveness gives your soul permission to move on to the higher and healthier ground of emotional recovery. He said that forgiveness is to your soul what antibiotics are to infection; it is the curative agent that will help to fully restore your soul, it doesn't immediately remove the pain of defence but it does start you on the road to recovery. The Lord had spoken: Brothers he said, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, keep watch on you, least you too be tempted, bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself (Galatians 6:1-3). If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God (Colossians 3:1). Amen
